ExxonMobil is actively engaged in the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), particularly with the establishment of a research and development center in the Dayawan Petrochemical Industrial Park in Huizhou, and investments in an ethylene cracker and performance product facilities which aim at fulfilling the increasing demands for products in packaging, automotive, industrial, personal care, and hygiene sectors. Our extensive experience in business development and talent nurturing in the region has led Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK) to invite us for the third consecutive year to share our insights at the Study and Career Pathways in the GBA seminar.
On July 7, Sam Yang, Mechanical Integrity Engineer, and Betty Huang, Environment Engineer of ExxonMobil (Huizhou) Chemical Co., Ltd., participated as volunteer speakers at the seminar in Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School. Sam presented an overview of our projects in Huizhou to more than 250 F4-F5 students, discussing potential job opportunities and the lifestyle and culture of the city. Meanwhile, Betty shared her educational background in Zhuhai and Hong Kong, along with her professional experiences in Hong Kong and Huizhou, highlighting the contrasts between these GBA cities. She encouraged students to open their minds, explore the GBA, and seize the emerging opportunities in the region. In the Q&A session that followed, students proactively sought advice on pursuing their educational and career aspirations in the GBA.
The seminar is part of the JA Plan For Future initiative, which, since its launch in 2019, has engaged over 30,000 students in life-planning activities. ExxonMobil is dedicated to promoting youth development and is proud to continue our collaboration with JAHK on this meaningful project, assisting local students in navigating their academic and professional journeys.
