Joliet, IL, U.S.
Our Joliet refinery is located 40 miles southwest of Chicago. Built in 1972, our facility is one of the newest refineries in the United States and is ideally located to receive and process Canadian crude oil delivered by pipeline.

Canada
We own a 69.6% share in Imperial Oil Limited, Canada’s largest petroleum refiner, a major producer of crude oil and natural gas, a key petrochemical producer and a leading fuels marketer.
We own and operate oil and gas projects in the Atlantic and hold petroleum assets in Western and Northern Canada that are operated by Imperial.

Guyana
We were the first oil producer in Guyana, and as operator of the prolific Stabroek block offshore, we remain the largest. More than 30 significant discoveries have been made since May 2015, with production beginning in December 2019.

More than a century ago, a charter was filed to build and operate a refinery in Baton Rouge. Operational excellence and improved energy efficiency have been responsible for Baton Rouge's increasing output capacity ever since. The ExxonMobil Baytown Complex is one of the world’s largest and most advanced refining and petrochemical facilities. Since opening in 1920, it has expanded to four manufacturing sites, including a plastics plant in nearby Mont Belvieu, as well as a global technology center – spanning 3,400 acres along the Houston Ship Channel.
